It’s time for Dota 2 esports fans to get hyped for the BLAST Slam II, the second big event of 2025. BLAST is one of the best tournament organizers out there for CS2, Dota 2, and, in the future, probably Deadlock, but I’m getting ahead of myself.
First and foremost, in February 2025, we’ll see some of the best Dota 2 teams in the world compete for a huge prize pool. In fact, the prize pool is $1 million, with the event taking place at the BLAST Studio in Copenhagen, Denmark.
The BLAST Slam II tournament is set to run from 3 to 9 February 2025, with a Group Stage and a Playoffs Stage. All teams start in the Group Stage. BLAST has now revealed the competing teams, which is what this article is about.
BLAST Slam II Teams List & Descriptions
Tournament organizer BLAST has not only provided the list of teams but also a bit of extra content for Dota 2 esports fans to digest.
Check out the list of all ten teams alongside short descriptions of each team to get us all hyped up.
- Yakult Brothers: “With renowned names on the roster, Yakult Brothers are looking to make a statement. Are they the new Chinese powerhouse in the making?”
- Talon Esports: “They may be the underdogs and flying under the radar, but they have the potential to soar above the competition.”
- Team Falcons: “This team is lightning-fast and is ready to hunt down the competition with its sights set on its prey. Don’t blink, you might miss them.”
- Xtreme Gaming: “They are serious contenders. Expect them to push the limits and challenge the status quo. After all, they are the Chinese powerhouse.”
- Parivision: “The rising CIS stars are back and are hungry to win another title. You bet they are coming for blood! Expect unpredictable and aggressive plays from them.”
- Tundra Esports: “Don’t sleep on the Tundra boys. The runners-up of the previous Slam event have a knack for exceeding expectations. Expect the unexpected!”
- Nigma Galaxy: “They are ready to rise from the ashes and have much to prove. But can these legends cement Nigma as a powerhouse?”
- Gaimin Gladiators: “Remember when everyone doubted the Gladiators? Yeah, about that… They’re back to prove they’re not just a flash in the pan (hopefully).”
- Team Liquid: “They are back to claim their rightful place atop the mountain. They are hungry for victory so expect fireworks when these legends take the stage.”
- BetBoom Team: “The throne is still warm, but the challengers are circling. Will BetBoom defend their title, or will someone else claim the crown?”
With a VERY strong lineup of teams, the BLAST Slam II event is set to be super exciting for Dota 2 fans across the globe. I can’t help but wonder if BetBoom Team will retain their title. Probably not, looking at the current team form across all invited participants.
