It’s happening; it’s finally happening! Tournament organizer StarLadder is back on the Counter-Strike Major Championship circuit with the StarLadder Budapest Major 2025. I’m struggling to contain my excitement, as this will be the first time since 2019 that we see as StarLadder Major Championship take place.
As announced by the tournament organizer on social media, the StarLadder Budapest Major will run from November 24 to December 14, 2025. As the name suggests, the entire tournament will take place in Budapest, Hungary.
There are four stages of competition. The first three stages take place from November 24 to December 7 at the MTK Sportpark venue, which can hold 2,000 spectators. Then, the Playoffs Stage will take place at the mammoth MVM Dome (December 11 to 14).
This venue features an incredible, high-tech 360-degree setup and can host 20,000 spectators! with seating for up to 2,000 spectators.
We will see 32 teams competing for their share of the $1,250,000 prize pool, and the glory of lifting a Major Championship trophy. Mark those calendars right now!
Hosting another Major is an incredible honor, and we’re determined to make it unforgettable. Budapest gives us the perfect stage to push the boundaries of what a live CS2 event can look and feel like. Fans are super excited about this upcoming Major Championship, and so am I. Who can blame us, really, since the StarLadder Berlin Major 2019 (the 15th Valve-sponsored event) was an incredible success, and I can still remember old Astralis lifting the trophy.
