Attention, prospective DOOM Slayers! You can play DOOM The Dark Ages early, up to two days before the game’s official launch on 15 May 2025. Yes, jumping into the blood-stained boots of the DOOM Slayer to experience a medieval war against hell is possible as soon as 13 May 2025, and you don’t need to have press access.
Let’s double-jump into hell and discuss how anyone on PC, PlayStation 5, or Xbox Series X/S consoles can start playing DOOM The Dark Ages before others.
Get Early Access To Play DOOM The Dark Ages
The only way to play DOOM The Dark Ages early is to pay for the Premium Edition, which will set you back $99.99. That’s quite a bit more than the Standard Edition, which costs $69.99 (nice!).

So what about the Xbox Game Pass version? Well, the bad news here is that you won’t get to play early unless you purchase the Premium Edition of DOOM The Dark Ages. To be clear: No, you can’t play the game early with Game Pass.
Pre-ordering the Standard Edition only gets you the VOID DOOM Slayer Skin cosmetic as an extra.
I don’t think the two days early is worth the extra money for Game Pass subscribers. I could be wrong, however, as it is up to every gamer to decide what it’s worth to them. You also get additional digital content for the Premium Edition:
- DOOM: The Dark Ages (Base Game)
- Early Access to the game up to two days before launch
- DOOM: The Dark Ages Soundtrack & Artbook
- Divinity Slayer Skin
- Divinity Dragon Skin
- Divinity Atlan Skin
- Campaign DLC
The campaign DLC content details have not yet been revealed. We’ll make sure to write a little something up about the game’s DLC content when info becomes available. The physical collector’s edition also includes all the content above, alongside some awesome real-life items and early access.
I do recommend that PC gamers also check out the game’s minimum and recommended system requirements before making a purchase, as it’s higher than you might think.
