Get Hyped For Cryptical Path, A Unique New Rogue-Lite

I love myself a good action rogue-lite as much as anyone could, but that’s not the reason I’m excited about Cryptical Path from developer Old Skull Games. Well, part of it is, obviously, but Cryptical Path isn’t your average rogue-lite experience.

In this new title, releasing on 29 January 2025 for PC via Steam, you will jump into the boots of the Architect and actually build your own path in an ever-changing labyrinth. It’s an exciting feature that makes Cryptical Path the first action roguelite builder, allowing players to add a new creative angle to their style of gameplay.

In case you can’t Google anything, you can find the link to Cryptical Path’s Steam page here. Now, let’s first take a look at the game’s official overview and description, which reads:

As I’ve mentioned previously, the game is set to release on 29 January 2025, and you can also play it on your Steam Deck, something I’m looking forward to quite a bit. There are, of course, few games that launch straight up with full Steam Deck support.

Key Cryptical Path Features:

  • Rogue-builder: The ability to carve your dungeon, increasing the replayability and the control you have in each and every run.
  • Immersive world: Explore a 2D side-scroller within beautifully crafted 3D environments.
  • Fast-paced action: Embody the Architect, a dynamic character that can dodge, dash and slash in the blink of an eye!
  • Constant progress: Unlock powerful items and choose which talents to master.

Okay, I’m sold. If you want to see the game in action, then simply check out the official launch trailer below.
