In case you’ve been living under a rock recently, trapped somewhere beyond the gates of Oblivion, perhaps, you’ll know that Bethesda really outdid themselves recently. Yes, the rumors were true, and they did launch a remaster (more like a remake) of The Elder Scrolls IV, aka Oblivion. For me, however, one of the other exciting new recently is about The Elder Scrolls 6 (TES6)!
Good old Todd, aka Todd Howard, the director and executive producer at Bethesda Game Studios, mentioned TES6 as clearly as anyone in his position could during the reveal and subsequent release of Oblivion Remastered.
Obviously, we’re working on the sixth chapter here, but what’s great about Elder Scrolls is being able to look back at all of the chapters. Skyrim, Oblivion, Morrowind, Daggerfall, Arena. Each of them tried to define role-playing games and open-world games for their generation.
It’s really no surprise that Bethesda is working on The Elder Scrolls 6, like at all.

The game was, of course, officially announced with a little teaser trailer at E3 2018, seven years ago! I’ve embedded the trailer below if you can’t even remember it anymore.
The most exciting part about the quote from Todd Howard has to be where he notes that each TES game “tried to define role-playing games and open-world games for their generation,” strongly indicating that when The Elder Scrolls 6 finally releases, it might also be a genre-defining open-world RPG.
When we learn more about TES6, we’ll be sure to let you know ASAP, so stay tuned to NLG. While you wait, check out some other interesting gaming industry news, Roblox guides, esports, and codes for free stuff!
