The original Hogwarts Legacy from Avalanche and Warner Bros. was released over two years ago, on 10 February 2023, just in time for Valentine’s Day. While the vocal minority tried to boycott the game due to their “feelings” about the Harry Potter author, the game was a MASSIVE success. That’s why it comes as no surprise that Hogwarts Legacy 2 is in the works.
Yes, Avalanche and Warner Bros. are creating a sequel and reportedly even some DLC for the original game. That’s according to a credible Bloomberg report, which generally nails industry rumors.
The report, which you can read in full on Bloomberg if you pay (ouch!), confirms that Warner Bros is moving forward with the sequel and also touches on the fact that Quidditch Champions didn’t do well at all. This means that not every Harry Potter game will be a success, but the publisher has decided to move forward with Hogwarts Legacy 2 in any case.

The hope is that Hogwarts Legacy 2 can be as, or even more successful, than the original title. Avalance Software is, of course, a great studio, and I have confidence they can pull it off. Further in the report, it is also mentioned that the developers are working on DLC for the first game, but there’s no indication as to what content this might entail.
At the time of writing, there’s no official trailer or teaser, release date, or anything like that for Hogwarts Legacy 2. Therefore, I suggest taking this news as a very credible rumor, with a small pinch of salt, until such time as Warner Bros. or Avalanche Software officially reveals the highly-anticipated sequel!
