Live Service God Of War Game Canceled At Sony | RUMOR

According to a Bloomberg report (it’s behind a paywall, but we got some quotes), Sony has canceled two in-development projects “following a recent review” after the massive failure of Concord. This DOA hero shooter reportedly cost around $200 million to make. Ouch!

This news instills sadness, however, because one of the projects comes from Sony Bend and the other from Bluepoint, known for their high-profile remake. The latter was reportedly working on a live service God of War title. Exciting, innit?

So, what’s happening with the studios? According to the aforementioned Bloomberg report, a Sony spokesperson told them that:

“Bend and Bluepoint are highly accomplished teams who are valued members of the PlayStation Studios family, and we are working closely with each studio to determine what are the next projects”

The Bloomberg report didn’t go into specific game details. We do, however, know from the Demon Souls remake that Bluepoint is an excellent studio, and Bend, known most recently for Days Gone, is freaking incredible.

Days Gone is one of the most underrated zombie games ever, deserving of praise, and any God of War game gets me a bit excited, this news isn’t great. I guess it’s a fear of failure after the death of Concord…

Please note: Always take rumors with a large helping of salt, no matter how solid the source appears. At No Luck Gaming, we’ll provide you with the latest gaming rumor news but make it ABUNDANTLY clear that these are, in fact, just rumors. We’ll also endeavor to update articles once (or if) rumors become confirmed facts.

I, for one, can’t help but wonder what the God of War live service game would have looked like. Of course, there’s enough room in the lore and massive world, but in which mythos would it have taken place? HALP, I’m super curious, and curiosity killed the cat…
