No combat, no quests, only exploration.
But for die-hard Elder Scrolls fans, that’s more than enough to get lost in. What makes this project so wild is Coulthard’s approach. Instead of manually placing objects and terrain, he built a custom C++ plugin that reads Skyrim’s ESM data file and automates the whole process.
That means the tech could (in theory) be used to remake other Bethesda classics like Fallout: New Vegas or even Starfield in Unreal Engine 5. Given the Creation Engine’s growing obsolescence, this project is a compelling blueprint for even more Elder Scrolls fan creations. Modders, take notes.
