Stop what you are doing—unless your full focus is already on learning the release date for Death Stranding 2, and watching every second of the massive, chilling new trailer. Comfortable? Good!
First, Kojima Productions has officially revealed the release date for Death Stranding 2: 26 June 2025 for PlayStation 5 (PS5) gamers worldwide. Pre-orders open on 17 March 2025.
While you mark your calendar, I highly suggest you watch the incredible new trailer. It’s full of mystery, sci-fi, incredible motion capture, acting from the likes of Norman Reedus, and more to behold, leaving more questions than answers—just like Hideo Kojima intended.

One of the biggest reveals from the new Death Stranding 2 trailer has to be a character called Neil. Luca Marinelli portrays the character to chilling effect. If you get Solid Snake vibes from his character, I won’t blame you. That was the intent, after all!
Kojima Productions also gives us our first look at a huge construct, “Magellan Man,” which should give Metal Gear fans some nerdchills.
The trailer is just over 10 minutes long. Yes, 10 minutes of top-tier Hideo Kojima with glorious cinematics elements and a chilling vibe you simply cannot find anywhere else. The visuals are breathtaking, to say the least. You also get your first introduction to a new thematic song by Woodkid, called “To The Wilder.“
I’m just going to stop talking now and let you watch the Death Stranding 2: On The Beach trailer embedded below. I recommend grabbing some popcorn and a drink, since it’s quite the experience, akin to that of a Love, Death and Robots episode.
What do you think about Luca Marinelli’s character Neil in Death Stranding 2? Did you get the Solid Snake vibes? I hope so, because that was the point!
