Take-Two Boss Shares High Hopes For GTA 6

In case you’ve been living inside the stomach of an alligator straight from Leonida, then you should probably know that Rockstar Games recently announced the delay of Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA 6). The new release date is 26 May 2025, and it looks like we can use a permanent marker on our calendars for this one!

Following the delay, Take-Two CEO, Strauss Zelnick indicated that GTA 6 will likely not get delayed again, stating: “historically when we set a specific date, generally speaking, we’ve been very good about reaching it.”

In an interview with CNBC, Mr Zelnick discussed the game some more, and made a rather bold yet, somehow, believable statement, explaining that:

The key thing is that Rockstar Games is trying to create the best thing anyone’s ever seen in entertainment, not just interactive entertainment. That’s a tall order, and I think consumers have huge hopes for the title.

Mr Zelnick went on to also explain how the GTA 6 delay is a due to a desire to polish and deliver the best experience possible, creating the highest quality entertainment.

GTA 6 sounds incredibly exciting, and while I am not sure it will really be the “best thing anyone’s ever seen in entertainment,” Rockstar Games does have a history of fantastic titles, building mind-blowing experiences that players consume for several years.

While we wait no-so-patiently for 2025 to pass so we can get to 26 May 2026 and play GTA 6, all we can do is watch the game’s second trailer over and over again.
