Dead Rails classes aren’t just frilly cosmetics. They’re a pretty big deal, and your choice can completely change how you survive (or die) out there. Whether you’re tearing through towns as a Vampire or stacking bonus damage as a low-health Survivalist, every class brings something different to the fight.
But with so many options to choose from (and loads more likely on the way), it’s hard to keep track of them all. That’s why I’ve broken down every class in Dead Rails, including their starting gear, abilities, costs, and how to unlock them!

How Many Classes Are There In Dead Rails? | Roblox
As of Apr. 21, 2025, there are 19 classes in Dead Rails. The most recent addition (Eggslinger) joined the lineup during the Easter Extravaganza Update. The table below includes all the Dead Rails classes, including their starting items, abilities, and costs in the game.

How To Unlock Classes In Dead Rails | Roblox
Most Dead Rails classes are available for purchase directly from the Tailor in the Lobby using Treasury Bonds (often just called “Bonds”). You can earn Bonds by completing runs, taking on challenges, raiding locations, or looting areas such as the Bank, Sterling, Castle, and Fort Constitution.
When you first start playing, the game assigns you the default “None” class. From there, you’re free to buy new classes and switch between them between runs. Altogether, it costs around 800 Bonds to unlock every purchasable class. However, not every class is for sale.
Most Dead Rails classes allow you to spawn with special gear or abilities, and it’s up to you to decide which is best suited to your needs. Some classes (like Horse) can only be unlocked by completing specific quests. What’s more, they may only be available for a limited time—so nab them before they disappear!
What Is The Strongest Class In Dead Rails? | Roblox
If you’re looking for the strongest class in Dead Rails, Vampire and Survivalist stand at the top. Vampire offers really good mobility and sustain, thanks to its lifesteal and speed buffs. This makes it perfect for aggressive looting and fast-paced combat (especially if you’re doing a solo run).
Meanwhile, Survivalist shines in high-pressure scenarios, dealing more damage the lower your health drops. It’s especially good against tougher enemies that other classes struggle with. Both of these Dead Rails classes demand skill and strategy, but when used right, they’re nearly unstoppable.
