Captain’s Ahab is a new NPC in Moosewood, introduced with the latest Fisch update. The task? He needs your help to catch the ever-elusive Moby during a Whale Migration. As a reward for your efforts, Blessed Song enchant, which grants +50% progress speed on any rod.
By reading this guide, you’ll have the knowledge you need to complete Captain Ahab’s quest in Fisch in no time.
Where Is Captain Ahab’s Location In Fisch?
Captain Ahab can be found in Moosewood (XYZ: 362, 133, 194). To be more specific, you can find him leaning against a crate to the left of the Shipwright, near the water’s edge. When you interact with Captain Ahab, he will say:
“Ye hunt the great white beast, Moby? Bring me one, and I’ll trade ye a relic—payment for vengeance. Now go, and may the sea show ye no mercy!”

How To Complete Captain Ahab’s Quest In Fisch
To complete Captain Ahab’s quest in Fisch, you’ll need to catch Moby, a Secret Fish that has a 5% chance of appearing during a Whale Migration (you can learn more about this in my guide). You can activate the quest simply by speaking to Captain Ahab in Moosewood.
The next step is to wait for a Whale Migration to begin. These are quite rare limited-time events, with only a 20% chance of occurring during rainy weather. I suggest server hopping until you find one (hang around Ancient Isle and watch for the blue directional arrows that appear in the water).

Once the Whale Migration is active in Fisch, equip a strong fishing rod like the Heaven Rod or Ethereal Prism Rod as Moby has a -95% progress debuff. You’ll also want to ensure you’re using the right bait. Moby prefers Squid bait and appears more frequently during the Summer season.
When you catch Moby in Fisch, it will trigger a short cutscene of the giant white sperm whale leaping from the ocean and smashing into your boat. Now, return to Captain Ahab to complete the quest. The in-game description reads: “A monstrous whale with a fearsome reputation, known to attack those who dare cross its path.”
What Are The Captain Ahab Quest Rewards In Fisch?
If you’ve successfully managed to catch Moby in Fisch, Captain Ahab will reward you with a Moby Bobber (offers no bonus; it’s purely aesthetic) and the Song of the Deep relic. This relic can be taken to the Keeper’s Altar under the Statue of Sovereignty for a 20% chance to obtain the Blessed Song enchant.
The Blessed Song enchantment offers +50% progress speed boost for any rod, allowing you to significantly improve your ability to reel in bigger and rarer fish. For example, you can get a +70% progress speed if you pair it with the Challenger’s Rod.
Unfortunately, returning with a regular Blue Whale won’t net you anything. If you return with the wrong catch, Captain Ahab will say, “No catch? Then why are ye standin’ here wastin’ me time?” or “Get back out there and bring me a Moby, or don’t come back at all!”

Is It Worth It To Catch Moby In Fisch?
It depends! While the Song of the Deep relic is described as a better version of Steady, it can be quite useful for catching Secret Fish (like those in Mariana’s Veil). The +50% progress speed buff means your fish minigame bar will fill up slightly faster when reeling in fish.
This makes it great for grinding or farming, especially when paired with rods that already have high progress speed buffs like the Tempest Rod or Challenger’s Rod. The catch? Enchanting the Song of the Deep relic isn’t guaranteed to work and only has a 20% chance to succeed.
That’s pretty much everything you need to know about Captain Ahab’s quest in Fisch. You’ll basically need to try catch Moby during a Whale Migration. At the end, you’ll receive the Song of the Deep enchantment as a reward.
